This pocket is named for the stunning shades of forest green fluorite, initially completely hidden by a thick crust of rusty brown calcite and only revealed once the coating was removed by acid etching in the preparation lab. However, the calcite has protected the fluorite for millions of years, so once removed, the unmasked fluorite is magnificent and completely undamaged.
The fluorite displays stunning daylight fluorescence, with corners or entire crystals fluorescing intensely bright royal purple or inky violet.
